Provisions for the Hereafter (Zaad Al-Ma'ad)

by Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah. Allah has sent the Messenger (S) with guidance and the Religion of Truth. Strict adherence to the guidance of His Prophet (S) is required from the followers of Islam. The scholars of the Islamic community have attached great importance to it and produced texts regarding the Acts of Worship, Dealings and Habits in the light of the Divine guidance. This book is one of the most famous works written on this subject. This book is one of the important resources of knowledge for those who seek to know the Seerah of their Prophet (PBUH) as well as, the Fiqh learned from it. This is a book that is unique in that it explains the Sunnah through the Seerah and the Seerah through the Sunnah.

The Mirage in Iran

By Dr. Ahmad Al-Afghanee TR: Bilal Philips
This translation of Dr. Ahmad al-Afghani's book, Sarab fee Iraan, provides the English reader with a concise view of the treacherous role played by the Shiites in Islamic history. It also examines the doctrines of modern Shiite scholars and presents the Islamic ruling passed on Shiites by both early Muslim scholars, as well as contemporary scholars. The need for material which critically analyzes Shiite doctrines continues to be felt by English-speaking Muslims inspite of recent efforts to fill the void. Pro-Sheeah books, magazines, newspapers and pamphlets in which the noble companions of the Prophet (pbuh) are slandered, 'Alee and some of his descendents deified and Islam distorted, continue to flood Muslim communities throughout the West with little or no written response from Muslim scholars. Consequently, the wave of conversion of Muslims to Shiite thought is steadily increasing to such a degree that Shiite Masjids and centers are actually being founded or built by Shiite converts from mainstream Islam.

Regret

By Muhammad Al-Shareef. We all feel regret, but did you know that regret is the first step towards salvation and forgiveness from Allah? Some may feel compelled to the depths of despair, but Allah has given us this great bounty of feeling regret after committing sin, thus causing us to turn to him and seek his forgiveness. This talk is both valuable and timeless, as practical examples of true life experiences are shared by Muhammad Al-Sharif, which illustrates that within regret we can attain true success.

The Story Of The Bull

By Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki. Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Ubbay ibn Ka’ab (may Allah be pleased with him), “What is the meaning of Tawqa?” Ubbay ibn Ka’ab said, “O Amir ul Mu’minin, have you walked on a field that had a lot of thorny plants?” Umar said, “Yes” Ubbay ibn Ka’ab said, “So what did you do?” Umar replied, “I lifted up my clothes and I was very careful,” Ubbay ibn Ka’ab said, “That is Taqwa.”

The Lofty Virtues of Ibn Taymiyyah

By The Imam, the Hafidh Abu Hafs 'Umar bin 'Ali al-Bazzar. Translated By Abu Sabaayaa. “If I had to swear standing between the corner of the Ka'bah and the spot of Ibrahim, I would swear that I have not laid my two eyes on anyone like him, nor has he seen anyone as knowledgeable as himself.” - al-Hafidh adh-Dhahabi

The author said:
“...When I learned of the death of the scholar and educator of this Ummah - the Imam, the mujtahid, the defender of the pure Shari’ah and Prophetic Sunnah, Shaykh al-Islam Taqi ad-Din Abi al-‘Abbas Ahmad bin ‘Abd al-Halim bin ‘Abd as-Salam bin Taymiyyah (may Allah sanctify his soul and brighten his grave) - some of the scholars and those who loved good for the Muslims said to me: “You saw and befriended the Shaykh, and you came to know him and his characteristics. If only you could write a few words regarding what you saw in order to benefit whoever of this Ummah comes across them, since mercy descends when we remember the righteous people.”

So, I responded: “I only accompanied him for a few days, and I only know few of this many virtues.” However, I saw that they intended good and that what they were requesting of me was a right and obligation upon me, as the scholar should be keen to spread and distribute what he thinks will be of value to the Muslims. So, I produced a small effort describing his virtues which will give the intelligent reader an idea of the honor and excellence of this man. I divided it into sections in order that it be a guide to those who reflect, and I included all that I could remember under each one...”

A party in Paradise, A party in Hellfire

The Companions of our Prophet Muhammed (SAW) used to gather to remember death so that they would benefit their souls by increasing in fear of Allaah and strive to gain His pleasure. If this was the case of the Sahaabah and they were the best of generations, the most pious and God-fearing of this ummah, then what about us? Surely, it means that we need to engage in the remembrance of Allaah(SWT) even more. After all, we are in far more need of this act of worship than they were....

Lion of the Desert (Umar al Mukhtar)

We go back in history to 1862 where a young boy of a poor household was born in a town controlled by the Uthmany Khilafa. This young man was brought under the care and tutelage of one of the Shuyookh in his home town when he was at the ripe age of 16 after the death of his father. He eventually developed a lifestyle of not sleeping more than 3 hours every night in order to get up to pray to Allah at the last third of the night and recite Qur'an until fajr. He memorized the Qur'an (as all knowledgeable people begin their lives) eventually, and was known to have finished his revisions in its entirety every seven days, regardless of the sufferings he encountered in his life.

Ahmad ibn Hanbal's Treatise on Prayer (Salah)

The treatise by Imam ibn Hanbal, the Imam of the Hanbali school of juristic reasoning, renowned for his steep knowledge, was written several hundred years ago to the inhabitants of a town where the Imam stayed for a period of time. It contains a full and clear description of the prayer and includes detailed observations of the mistakes, which Imam Ahmad observed during his time in that town. It was and remains an invaluable work for all Muslims. Detailing as it does many common errors made during prayers, some of which are serious enough to invalidate the act of worship. Who Will Stand up for the Muslim Prisoners?

Here is the English translation of a Friday Sermon delivered by Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al Habdaan, Imam of Al Izz bin Abdus Salam Mosque in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday 16 August 2002 (07/06/1423AH). The title of the sermon was ‘Who Will Stand up for the Muslim Prisoners?’ It was an outstanding sermon and it is hoped that all those who were not present can benefit from it, especially on an issue that has been overlooked by many, even the Islamic propagators.

Stories of Repentance

By Muhammad Abduh Mughawiri

Who among us does not sin? And who among us does all that is required of him in the religion? It is an undeniable fact that we all have shortcomings; what distinguishes us from the others, what raises some of us above others, is that successful ones among us are those who repent their sins and ask Allah to forgive them. It is truly encouraging to know that the door to repentance is always open. Glad tidings, then, to every Muslim who constantly hastens to repent to Allah and to ask for his forgiveness.

Dua Qunoot - Mishari Rashid al-Afasy

Allahumma lakal-hamdu anta noorus-samawaati wal-ardi wa man fihinna, wa lakal-hamdu anta qayyimus-samawaati wal-ardi wa man fihinna, wa lakal-hamdu anta rabbus-samawaati wal-ardi wa man fihinna.

O Allah! For You is all Praise - You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth and all that is in them; and for You is all Praise - You are the Guardian of the Heavens and the Earth and all that is in them; and for You is all Praise - you are the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth and all that is in them.

The Qunoot Collection

Dua is one of the strongest weapons of the Believer. This tear-jerking audio set is a collection of Qanoot Dua’s made by various Imams from around the world.

“The Believers, Men and Women, are Supporters and Protectors of one another. They command Al-Ma’ruf and forbid Al-Munkar, they perform Salat and give the Zakat, and Obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will have his Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.” (At-Taubah: 71) The Qanoot is recited at times of hardship, difficulties and when the Ummah has been affected by calamities. Usually the Imaam will recite it after the ruku and it is Sunnah for the followers to follow By stretching out their hands in front of their chest (as in du'a) praying that Allah (SWT) alleviate the calamities from the Muslims. The current Crusade against the Muslims is evidently clear from the atrocities committed against them in Iraq, Palestine, Kashmir and Chechnya.

Description of Paradise by Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim, Rahimahullaah

Ibn al-Qayyim said, in regards to the description of the Paradise and the delights that it contains: "And if you ask about its ground and its soil, then it is of musk and saffron. And if you ask about its roof, then it is the Throne of the Most Merciful. And if you ask about its rocks, then they are pearls and jewels. And if you ask about its buildings, then they are made of bricks of gold and silver. And if you ask about its trees, then it does not contain a single tree except that its trunk is made of gold and silver. And if you ask about its fruits, then they are softer than butter and sweeter than honey.
